Creative Director

The soul and heart must be found for any project to succeed. The creative director is that soul that heart.

As a Creative Director, I conceptualize and create the vision of a project, oversee how the vision is realized, and manage the route to a successful completion. In EXOvault I built a brand and line of products with a cohesive vision that connected to a unique and demanding clientele.  I created, defined, and introduced a new market segment.

Visionary

I’m comfortable discussing artistic design trends with museum directors, collectors, designers, and leaders, I’m just as comfortable discussing technical details with engineers and fabricators. I’m able to bring beauty to technically demanding projects with ease.

Knowledge, based on Experience

Seeing projects in their entirety, with clear and defined steps to their realization, I designed and created all of EXOvault’s products and production lines its backend, and storefront. This hard-won knowledge of all aspects of a business gives me a depth of knowledge and experience that informs my insight as to what a company is and how I can build an identity as a Creative Director.

Cutting through the clouds of misconception

The key to successful art, and successful art direction, is to first and most importantly perceive problems and objectives clearly without preconception and prejudice. Richard Feynman said, “The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest person to fool.” It’s hard to step outside well-worn paths of common knowledge but by using radical honesty in conjunction with the scientific method the Creative Director can find the unique path that defines a brand.

It’s new but it’s not new. People are in love with but are afraid of the new. Most of what is “new” is just new packaging around old ideas. The Creative Director must cut through this cloud and actually embrace the new and wrap it with an accessible aesthetic so that it can be accepted.

I lead EXOvault through hundreds of products maintaining a unique and loved brand image.

I have worked with Museums worldwide to install this and other larger sculptures. Each installation is a complex process requiring a year or more of work balancing the needs of the artwork with the realities of budget, marketing, and architecture.

Every EXOvault product was a exacting journey where I would find beauty within technical challenges.
